A New You Revelation

Here we are, the end of yet another year. And boy, what a year it has been. I guess there is really no need in going into all that has happened. We all were present to the experiences of 2020. However, I do want to honor and pay my respects to all the lives that were affected and lost due to covid-19.

The human spirit is forever strong, and life goes on. You are strong. Now is the time for us, like nature, to go within. Now is the time to get quiet and ponder what we want to reveal in this New Year.

Something within you is just aching to come out, to be revealed. My goodness, I hope you really understand how beautiful you are, how powerful you are, how creative you are. There is no one on the planet quite like you. You, my dear friend, are amazing. And there is something amazing within you that is to be shared with the world.

It does not matter what you did or did not do in the past. It does not matter what you said or did not say. Now is the time for you to shine. Now is the time for you to reveal the truth of your Divine Self. What are you waiting for? The world needs you and we need you now.

Ah, but you say, well not the Real You, but that little you may say, “I don’t know enough. I am not good enough. I’m too old. I’m too young. No one wants to hear what I have to say. What can I do?” That voice is the voice of BS Yes, BS. Old Belief Systems that have kept you down for way to long.

You are here to be the best you can possibly. It does not matter what that is, just be the best you. Listen, now is the time to reveal to the world, even if it’s your community, your most creative, powerful, and joy-filled Self.

This is the time of year when we start thinking about New Year’s Resolutions. All that is cool. I also want to invite all of us to make a New You Revelation.

A New You Revelation is about finding out what dreams, desires, or ideas want to be revealed through you. What is wanting to be birthed through you? Now is the time to go within to ask that question.

Many of us know or remember what those dreams and desires are. They are the dreams and desires we had when we were younger. Like hearing a six-year-old say when asked what they want to be, I want to be a doctor. Then, as that child grows up life happens and adulting begins. In this adulting that dream, idea, or desire gets put on the back burner. Or maybe it is taken off the stove completely.

Though that may happen, that dream, or desire is still there, deep within, especially if it is connected to your purpose for being here on this planet. Tapping into that inner space where these dreams, ideas and desires reside is what the New You Revelation is about. What is calling you forth to be more? What new you is wanting to be revealed in this 2021?

All that sounds great, but how do we do that? How do we go within to ask that question? What question or questions do we ask? Then, what do we do when we hear the answer?

Here are five ways for to connect with your inner guidance to find out what is knocking at the door of your heart asking to be released.

1. Sit and Become Aware of the Breath.

All of us have an inner voice that can always guide us to that something better. That is when we listen to it. That’s the challenge, learning to hear that voice.

The best way to do that is to meditate. There are many forms of meditation and they all work. It depends on what floats your boat. However, I am speaking specifically talking about sitting down, getting still, focusing on the breath, then allowing the breath to lead you inward. Some of you already do this. However, for some of you this may be new. It just takes practice to sit, breathe and listen.

To start this practice, choose a quiet place where you will not be interrupted for the duration of your practice. If possible, it is best to choose the same time and place every day.

Once you have set the time and place, sit with your back straight. The reason this is that a straight back allows the organs to relax. When the body is hunched over, even slightly, it exerts pressure on the organs, causing them to work harder than they need to. Also, sitting with a straight back allows the lungs to expand and function as they were designed to.

For those who are new to this practice set a timer for 5 minutes. At this point, there is no reason to try to sit for 30 minutes, that will come. Baby steps.

2. Listen for the Voice

We all have a guiding voice. It’s that voice that says things like, “Make a left here. Don’t go down this street. This room has a bad feeling to it. This person has a different vibe. That voice, the inner voice, is here to guide us and direct us to experience the best. Unfortunately, we have gotten away from listening to that natural guidance system. Meditation provides the opportunity to start listening for that voice again.

As we become still and aware of the breath, we allow the conscious thoughts to float by like scenes on a movie screen. This is when start to listen for and to that still soft and sacred voice that is at the core of our being. Now that we are beginning to hear it, what do we do?

3. Ask the Questions

Once you are in that space, where you feel a stillness a peace rom within, that’s when you start to ask the questions. The following are just examples you can start with. As time goes on, the inner voice will direct you in what questions want to be asked.

I. Who Am I? This is a great question to ask. Don’t try to figure it out. Listen for the answer.

II. Who A I to Be? The answer to this question informs you of what is your to do. Maybe the situation calls you to be compassionate. Maybe you are to be courageous. Or maybe you are to be the power of silence.

III. What must I release and let go of? Sometimes we cannot hear what wants to be revealed because we are unwilling to let of the past.

IV. What Must I Accept? This is another great question that calls us to let go of the past.

V. What’s Wanting to Be Revealed Through Me? All of these questions are good. The main thing is to be willing to listen for the answer. Relax and let it happen.

4. Get Busy

While you are hearing the answers to the questions. You will also get ideas on what to do next. When you receive those answers don’t wait, jump on them, get busy. It is written in scripture, Faith without works is dead,” Ernest Holmes, the Founder of Science of Mind and Spirit wrote, “Treat and move your feet.” You are the one to bring your dreams, ideas, and desires to fruition. Yes, you will have others to assist you, and they will. But nothing happens without you. It is being revealed through you. You are here to make a difference. You are here on purpose for a purpose.

As we go into this New Year, make the commitment to be a brand New You. So, what is your New You Revelation?

Peace and Abundant Blessings,
